Eighteen checks in six areas
The same deterministic rules the builder uses. Each issue comes with why it matters and how to fix it.
- Structure. Standard section headings, a parser-friendly single-column layout, and no [placeholder] text left in.
- Content. Bullets that start with an action verb, include measurable results, stay between 8 and 30 words, and avoid first-person pronouns and filler phrases.
- Completeness. A short summary, 6 to 20 skills, at least two bullets per role, and your education.
- Length / clarity. A length that fits your experience (one page under about ten years, two above; academic CVs longer), and no paragraph or bullet that runs on.
- Contact information. Your name, email, phone number and location at the top.
- Dates. Clear, consistent dates for every role and qualification, so experience can be calculated.
Applicant tracking systems differ. This score measures structure, clarity and completeness that most systems and recruiters reward; it is not a guarantee.
Questions about the checker
Is the ATS check free?
Yes. The check, the score and every fix are free, with no account and no payment.
Which files can I check?
PDF, Word (.docx) and plain-text files up to 5 MB, or pasted text. Files are read on your device.
Do you keep my resume?
No. Your resume is read on this device and nothing leaves your browser. Field Edition and Full Access buyers can choose an AI reader instead; if you choose it, the text will be sent to our server and our AI provider to find the sections and will not be stored. The score is always worked out on your device.
Does a high score mean I will get an interview?
No. Applicant tracking systems differ, and people make the decisions. The score measures structure, clarity and completeness that most systems and recruiters reward; it is not a guarantee.
Why is there no job match score here?
Job match compares your resume with one specific job description. It is separate from ATS readiness and comes with the paid editions (AI job-description analysis).
